Names for you
If you are a boy and if it is up to me to name you, I am probably going to name you after Krishna Vasudev Yadav from Gokul (reference: The movie 'Oh my God!'). So your name could be Kanha, Madhav, Mohan. These are not 'cool' names, I know. So, I am probably going to compromise and call you by these names at home. If you are a girl, it is going to be trickier. Because I really want to name you after Krishna (the god, not your cousin). Perhaps I'll call you Mohini or Mohana (not 'cool', so the same compromise here as well).
Why do I want to name you after this particular god? Because he is the anchor of your mother's faith. He is my best friend in the world, my guide, the other half of my soul. I believe in god because I believe in him. And I know that even if I am not around, he is still watching over you.
I am probably going to avoid giving you names starting with A,B, Z. People whose names start with A are always the first in roll-calls, first to be called for vivas, first for any task essentially. People whose names start with X,Y,Z have the exact opposite problem. Trust me, when you consider vivas, you are better off with letters from the middle of the alphabet.

Hello World!
Yup! You guessed right. Your parents are geeks!
That doesn't mean you should be too. When we were children, we did not know of any career options in arts or sports. I see India changing now and hopefully, by the time you are ready to choose your life path, you will have many more options than we had. So, play! Play sports, play instruments, learn how to sing, dance, write!
I am your mom (I feel a thrill just saying this). I am creating this blog as a contingency plan. Life is so unpredictable and there is no guarantee that I will survive till you are in high school, college. Hell, we do not even know if we will be alive tomorrow (in which case, you will not be born, and there would be no point in writing this.) But let me play God and assume that I will live long enough to bring you into this world. Let me assume that one day you will read this. If I am not around when it is time for you to read this, I want you to know this - I love you. I love you with all my heart and my soul.
You are not even a whisper in this world yet and I am already writing you letters, I have already thought of some names for you, I have already decided the lullaby I am going to sing to you ('Mere ghar aayi ek nanhi pari' in case you are a baby girl. I am planning to change the lyrics to 'nanha baby' in case you are a baby boy. It is a very soothing melody). Believe me when I say this, I love you.
